Monuments

At Brown & Powers Monuments, we offer a wide variety of granite cemetery memorials to honor your loved one. Choosing a cemetery memorial is an important decision that will honor your loved one for years to come. We service all surrounding cemeteries.  Granite is a natural stone which is found in most parts of the world and is the densest of materials used in the production of cemetery monuments. We do offer marble upon special request.

Monuments are available in many sizes including grass markers, slant markers, upright dies and bases, and special shapes. They are available in a variety of colors including, grey, pink, brown, black, green, blue and red.

There are two different ways in which a monument can be designed. The most common method is sandblast design.  Sandblasting is a process utilizing sand, under high pressure, to carve the letters and design onto the memorial.  All sandblasting design is done at our local facility.  Another method is called etching. Etching is the process of using a laser to install the design on the stone. Depending on the design, etching is usually done by technicians at the granite company; however, we have local technicians that can handle small etching designs. Etching designs offer much more detail than is possible with a sandblast design.  Etching allows for one’s own customized scenes and portraits.

There are many factors that influence the cost of a memorial. First and foremost is the color of the granite, the size, and shape of the design.
