Norman Dale Schenck, 77, of County Road 31, Town of Jasper, passed away peacefully Sunday (September 29, 2019) at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Hornell, August 2, 1942, the son of Luman and Madeline( Prutsman) Schenck, he had resided in West Jasper all his life as a self employed dairy farmer. He was a well respected member of the farming community; a member of the J-T Ag Advisory Committee, the Allegany-Steuben Holstien Club, had worked for 59 years for Empire Livestock , and as an independent cattle hauler. He was always there to help anyone on a moment's notice. One of his greatest enjoyments was spending time with his grandchildren, and attending their sporting events. Dale had a special love of tractors, especially John Deere's.
He was predeceased by his parents and one sister Joyce Hosmer.
He is survived by his wife; Helen( Kernan) Schenck, to whom he was married to on March 25, 1960, two daughters; Christina (Cliff) Ribble of Candor and Tonya (Jamie) Brewer of Greenwood,five sons; Ronald Schenck, Randall (Karen) Schenck, Brian (Jackie) Schenck, Mark (Amy) Schenck, and Shawn Schenck all of Greenwood, two sisters; Linda (Dale) Campbell of Avoca and Mona (Rick) Dray of Rexville, his brother; Morris (Ruth) Schenck of Greenwood and one brother-in-law; Bernard Hosmer of Woodhull, 14 Grandchildren; Derek (Valerie) Ribble, Tara (Josh) Hack, Alica (Kendon Wood) Ribble, Travis Ribble, Chelsea (Jim) Weber, Justin (Anna Taft) Schenck, Tyler Schenck, Torrie (Adam Baker) Schenck, Maggie (Pierce) Gunn, Sarah Schenck, Morgan Schenck, Alison Schenck, Logan Brewer and Hailey Brewer, three great grandchildren; Jolee Gunn, Wells Gunn, Evelyn Ribble and another on the way. Several nieces, nephews, cousins, and his very special and loyal canine friend "Suzie".

The family will be present to receive friends on Friday,( October 4, 2019), from 1 PM until 3 PM and 6 PM until 8 PM at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 6 Spruce St., Canisteo. Funeral services will be held following calling hours on Friday at 8:00 PM Rev. Brian Diffenbacher and Rev. Todd Mitchell will officiate. Burial will be in West Jasper Cemetery.
