Obituary of Robert J. Talbett

Robert J. “Rainman” Talbett Canisteo Robert J. “Rainman” Talbett, 67, of Maple Street, passed away Friday (July 17, 2020) at his home. Born in Chicago, ILL, November 1, 1952, the son of Robert S. and Lucille Pantano Talbett, he had resided many years in Hornell and Canisteo. Bob was a graduate of Hornell High School, Class of 1971, and served his country as a member of the United States Air Force during the Viet Nam Era. Bob had been employed as a commercial roofer thru the Roofers Union Local #22 in Rochester. He was a member of the Hornell American Legion Post, was a lifetime member of the HOG, participated in the Patriot Guard, and was very proud to have completed the Hoka Hey Long Distance Motor Cycle Endurance Run in 2018. He was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his wife; Gail Cunningham Talbett of Canisteo, his daughters; Sherrie Arnault of Arkport and Meridith (John) Brundu of Hornell, his sons; Robert Talbett of Jamestown, and James Sharp (Lisa) of North Carolina, his sisters; Charlene Sisco of Hornell and Janice Hollister of Hornell, his brother; Stephen Talbett of Hornell, 12 grandchildren; Braden Arnault, Marc Arnault, Taryn Arnault, Tressa Arnault, Mason McNaughten, Lucian Talbett, MeyerTalbett, Emily Sharp, Erica Sharp, Thomas Jimerson, Phoenix Brundu, and McKenna Brundu, and multiple nieces and nephews. The family will be present to receive friends at the Bender-Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo Street in Hornell on Wednesday (July 22, 2020) from 5 until 7 PM. Private funeral services will be held for the family with Rev. Donald Maynard officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Canisteo with full military honors on Saturday (July 25, 2020) at 11 AM. Please note: Because of the Covid 19 Pandemic, all persons attending visiting hours must wear a mask and practice social distancing. Covid guidelines have established the maximum occupancy of the funeral home at any one time, and when that maximum is reached visitors may be asked to wait outside until some visitors have left the building.
