My sincere condolences to the Butler family. I believe all of the teachers, workers, and administrators, in my 13 years attending Belfast Central School, were very good at their job. Also, each one, as many do, were willing to help a past student or anyone else who may have a problem. My personal experience in the late 90's was a math term found in my manufacturing work. I contacted Mr. Butler and after reviewing this with me, he confirmed my interpretation. Thank You Mr. Butler. Great job! - Larry Young ( Class of 1973 ).

So sorry for your loss. Mr. Butler was one of my favorite teachers. I always looked forward to going to Math class everyday. He was an awesome teacher and I enjoyed his sense of humor. I was also born in Pennsylvania and while at Belfast Central my family and I would often go back to visit 2 of my sisters that lived in Wellsboro. Mr. Butler would always ask me how the Wellsboro trip was and if I had traveled through Westfield as we sometimes did. I am sending prayers of comfort for your entire family during this very difficult time.

Harvey was a wonderful person and a fantastic teacher. He was my unofficial mentor when I began my teaching career in Belfast! Harvey was always there for students or teachers when we needed him. Memories of Harvey will be cherished. I am so sorry for your loss.

I so enjoyed the conversations I had with Harvey over the 40 plus years of knowing him. He always helped my parents with different things, and he would check on them in their later years to make sure they were okay. He will be dearly missed.

Mr. Butler was a staple at Belfast Central. With as many kids that went through his classes he cared about every one of them. He never forgot one of them! RIP.

So very sorry for your loss. When I recall my years at Belfast Central, Mr. Butler is always a fond memory. He helped nurture my love of math, and he was always so much fun to tease. He gave us many laughs. The world lost a truly great man, and he will be sorely missed. Paris (France) Weiland, class of 1980
