William G. Gardner Canisteo William G. Gardner, 76 of Hammer Creek Road, passed away Saturday (Jan. 9, 2021) at St James Hospital in Hornell. Born in Fremont, NY, October 24, 1944, he had resided all his life in this area. He was a graduate of Hornell High School, and had been employed as a mechanic and bus driver for Alfred State College. Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing and was an avid Buffalo Bills Fan. He was predeceased by his parents, his son; Ricky Gardner, his sisters; Vivian Gardner, Joanne Updyke and Jeanette Evingham, his brothers; Donald, James Darrell and Alan Gardner. Surviving are his wife, Phyllis Garner Gardner of Canisteo, his daughter; Vivian (Roy) Woodworth of Hartsville, his sons; Alan (Cheri) Gardner of Jasper and Jeffrey (Ronda) Gardner of Corning, his brother; Jack (Karen) Gardner of Canisteo, his grandchildren; Nicole (Joseph) Liberati of Hartsville, Myra (Brian) Dennis of Canisteo, Zackary (Rachel Raish) Woodworth of Greenwood, step-grandchildren; Christopher Gillmore, Anthony Atwell and Paul Atwell III, great grandchildren; Brandlee Dennis, Brent Dennis, Carter Woodworth, Christopher Woodworth, Ayden Liberati, as well as three step-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews including two special nephews; Gregory Evingham and Marty Bruce.
