William Eck Hartsville William Eck, 101 of Hartsville, passed away Sunday (Jan. 10, 2021) at St. James Hospital in Hornell. Born in Ellenville, NY, January 11, 1919 ,he moved to this area in 1962. Bill retired from the Bath Veterans Administration Center where he worked as a carpenter retiring after 25 years of service. Bill was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving from 1945-1947. He was a member of the Canisteo American Legion Post. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife Christine Eck who passed away on December 25, 2020, his son; Richard Eck and two daughters; Darlene and Sharon. He is survived by his sons; Charles Miller or Oregon, Scott (Doris) Miller of Hornell and Wayne Eck of Greenwood, his sister; Grace Banks of Downsville, NY, 5 grandchildren, several great grandchildren. The family will be present to receive friends on Thursday (Jan. 14, 2021) at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 6 Spruce St., in Canisteo from 1 PM until 2 PM where funeral services will follow calling at 2 PM with Rev. Dudley Jenkins officiating, Burial with military honors will follow at Hartsville Center Cemetery.
