Corrinne A. Maile, 70 of LeRoy, passed away peacefully Sunday morning (January 17, 2021) with the presence of her family following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Hornell on July 31, 1950, to Luella A. VanScoter and Richard Harrington Sr.
Corrinne grew up in Hornell, attending Hornell High School and continuing her education at Alfred State College. She later relocated to LeRoy, attended Genesee Community College, where she would later start a new career at the college and retired after 28 years. In her younger years, Corrinne enjoyed bowling, golfing, and baking, but throughout her life, she found her most enjoyment spending time with her children and grandchildren, who meant the world to her.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, step-father Robert Freeland who was a big part of her life, and also her brother John VanScoter.
Surviving are her children Joseph (Betty Jo) Morey, Thomas (Alicia) Morey Jr., Nicholas (Mallory Sackett) Maile, Nicole (Christopher) Hausfelder. She is also survived by siblings, Richard Harrington, Katherine (Amy) Harrington, Michael (Ruth) Harrington, Gerald (Debbie) Freeland, Ronald (Linda Pierce) Freeland, David (Christine) Freeland, Steven (Carol) Freeland, Thomas (Nancy) Freeland, and James (Pauline Foster) VanScoter, along with her beloved eight grandchildren who she always made sure they knew that she “loved them bunches,” and many nieces, nephews who she cherished.
Calling hours will be from 4-6pm on Saturday (January 23, 2021) at the Bender-Brown & Powers Funeral Home 354 Canisteo Street in Hornell. The family plans to hold a Celebration of Life at a later date.
