Stephen D. Amidon Hornell Stephen D, Amidon, 77, longtime area resident, passed away Thursday (Jan. 28, 2021) at St. James Hospital. Born in Hornell, May 26, 1943, the son of Walter and Tressa Brown Amidon, he had resided all his life in Hornell, He was a graduate of Hornell High School, and SUNY Geneseo. Steve was employed as a Civil Engineer at the New York State Department of Transportation in Hornell. After retirement, Steve and his late wife, Bonnie enjoyed spending winters in Sebring, Florida. He was a former member of the Arkport Fire Department and Ambulance Corp. Steve served his country as a member of the New York Army National Guard in Hornell for several years. Steve was predeceased by his parents, his wife; Bonnie Amidon in 2015, his step-father; Paul Muchler and his brother Roger Amidon. He is survived by his daughters; Kim (Mark) Betker of Conesus, Karen Amidon of Georgia, Beckie Austin of Andover and Tammy (Guy) Sick of Hornell, his sons; James Stephen Amidon of Rochester, and James Scott Amidon of New York, his sister; Sandra (Bruce) Davis of Michigan and his step-brother; Paul Muchler Jr., his step-sister; Kay Amidon of, his grandchildren; Chris and Nick O’Dell, Aliesha Roegiers, Lauren Beaver, Haley Withrow, Katie and Raymond Rahmlow, Heather Gill, Roy and Patrick Austin, Justin Sick, Talana Ingalls, Kayla Widger, Alexandria Snyder, Shaleena McEvoy, and Brandon Ingalls, Cody, Devon and Kaleb Amidon, Ken and Kyle Betker as well as 26 Great Grandchildren.
