Eric F. Winkelman, 48, of Lent Hill Road, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday (Feb. 23, 2021) at his home.
Eric was born in Hornell, July 17, 1972. He graduated from Alfred Almond Central School.
Eric enjoyed gardening, taking pride in his homegrown vegetables and caring for his many small farm animals. Eric’s passion for gardening carried over into his job in the garden center at Lowe’s, many years in Hornell and recently transferred to Henrietta.
Eric was predeceased by his grand parents; George and Dorothy Flaitz and Charles Ritter, two uncles; Brian Flaitz and Thomas Morse.
He is survived by his wife, Wendy and step-children; Bruce, Jenny and Kristopher Johnson, his mother; Kathleen (Thomas) Davies of Florida, his step-father; William Flaitz of Almond, grandmother; Carol Ritter of Hornell, His Sister; Heidi Fuller(Daniel Weathers) of Alabama, Rachel Dailey (Mathew) of Wellsville, and brothers; Joshua Flaitz of Almond and Lucas Flaitz of Alabama, nieces; Kayla, Alysa and Isabel, nephews; Mathew, Steven and Jake. Aunts; Cynthia McKibben(Bob), Carol (Lavern) Warriner, Geogeanne (Jim) Carter, Mary Lou (Dennis) Kara, Linda Sue (Gary) Recktenwald, uncles; Scott (Mona) Morse, Thomas (Monica) Flaitz, several cousins as well as Lon Winkelman, and half brothers; Blake, Robby, and Justin.
There will be no calling hours or services at this time. A Celebration of life will be held for his family later in the summer.
