Obituary of Bonnie Ruth Mahoney

Bonnie Ruth Mahoney Arkport Bonnie R. (Kromer) Mahoney, 61, went home to heaven on June 9, 2021. She was born in North Hornell the daughter of Ronald Kromer and Norma Bowen Kromer. Bonnie was a lifelong area resident, graduating from Arkport Central School “Class of 1978, and then went on to graduate from Olean Business Institute. Bonnie married Jay Plaisted June 11, 1983, and was predeceased by him in 2009. She had attended the Burns Community Church and most recently was attending the Fresh Start Church in Hornell. She had worked as a CNA in the Home Health Field for many years. Bonnie loved family get- togethers and holidays. All her family was very important to her. Her nieces and nephews brought great joy to her life. She was predeceased by her first husband Jay Plaisted, her maternal grandparents Clifford and Irma Bowen, paternal grandparents Arthur and Ruth Kromer, her father Ronald Kromer, and her mother Norma Kromer. She is survived by her husband Joseph R. Mahoney whom she married August 30, 2014, her sisters Deborah (Ralph) Perry, Carolyn (Robert) Erwin, Shelly Kromer Bailor, her brother Arthur (Cheryl Towner) Kromer as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will be present to receive friends on June 22, 2021 at the Fresh Start Church on Maple Street in Hornell from 1-3pm with a Memorial Service to follow at 3:00pm, with Pastor Matt Sassano and Pastor Karmon Wood to officiate. Burial will be at Heritage Hills Cemetery in Arkport.
