Alice A. Bliss formerly of Greenville Road, passed away Tuesday (July 6, 2021) at Thompson Memorial Hospital in Canandaigua.
Born in Avoca, June 17, 1928, the daughter of Floyd and Ruth French Hammond, she had resided her entire life in Avoca. She was a graduate of Avoca Central School, and a member of the First Baptist Church in Avoca, and the Bath Camp of Gideons International. She had served as the church librarian and was active in the missionary work of the church.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband; Richard Bliss, her daughter; Nancy Gillette, her brothers; Ernest Hammond, Paul and Victor Hammond, sister; Evelyn Jopson, and her daughter-in law; Susan Bliss.
Surviving are her daughters; Kathleen Perillo of Florida, Linda (Rev. James) Balson of Macedon, her sons; Carl (Janet) Bliss of Southport, Larry (Joanne) Bliss of Lima and Stephen Bliss of Savona, son-in-law; Thomas Gillette of Bloomfield, Sister; Faith (Richard) Hagenloh of New Mexico , her brother; James (Vera) Hammond of Owego, her sister-in-law; Marguerite Hammond of Missouri, 15 Grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Family will be present today (Friday July 9, 2021) to receive friends at the First Baptist Church of Avoca from 1 PM until 2:30 PM at which time a funeral service will be held with Rev. William McFeaters officiating. Burial will be in Bath National Cemetery on Monday (June 12, 2021) at 2:00 PM.
