Helen Dora Jones, 97, of Cameron, NY, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday (July 25, 2021) at Elderwood at Hornell surrounded by her loving family.
Helen was born November 19, 1923 in Angelica, NY to the late Miles and Sarah Wells Hults. On June 23, 1942, she married the love of her life, George (“G.M.”) Jones who predeceased her in November 2012. Helen and G.M. made their home on the Swale where they enjoyed simple farm life and raised five children.
Helen was a graduate of Addison Central School and the former IBM School in Rochester where she received training as a key punch operator. She had been employed at the former Marion Rohr in Hornell, NY, Westinghouse in Bath, NY and later retired from Ingersoll Rand in Painted Post, NY after 20 years of service in the Parts Department.
Helen enjoyed gardening and canning, tending to her many flower beds, sewing, cooking, baking, fishing and traveling with her husband G.M. She also enjoyed bowling and playing golf. Helen frequently hosted many family gatherings at her home and was well known for her delicious food and pies.
Helen was predeceased by her parents, her husband, her step-mother Ida Hults, her half-brothers Bernard Withey and Bernard Hults, her brothers Lloyd and Roger Hults, her sisters Dorceil Moran and Shirley Hults, her sisters-in-law Dorothy Hults and Martha Hults, her granddaughter Brandy Moran, her great grandson Zachary Smith and her daughter-in-law Nancy Jones.
Surviving are 3 daughters: Sally (George Brundu) McKee, Susan (Rick) Marsh and Karen (William) Moran, 2 sons: George (Mary Krisher) Jones and Carl Jones, her brother-in-law Bob Moran, 12 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

The family will be present to receive friends on Saturday, July 31, 2021 from 11 a.m. until 12:00 Noon at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 6 Spruce Street, Canisteo, NY where funeral services will follow calling hours at 12 Noon. Pastor Joel Hudson will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Canisteo.
