Thomas L. Jamison, 75 formerly of 11th Street in Canisteo, passed away peacefully on Monday (September 20, 2021) at Suncoast Hospice in Pinellas Park, Florida.
He was born in Hornell on January 14, 1946 the son of Ray Jamison and Irene Preston Jamison. Tom was a graduate of Canisteo Central School and went on to get his Associates’s Degree from Morrisville and his Bachelor’s Degree from Oswego. He was retired from Alfred State College, where he had taught Automotive Technology for 36 years. He was a member of the Canisteo First Baptist Church, the Canisteo Fire Department (former chief), and the fire advisory board for Steuben County.
He was predeceased by his parents.
He is survived by his wife Jacqueline (Rice) Jamison, his daughters Jill (Shawn House) Livingston of North Hornell, Julie (Joe) Donlon of Hornell, his former son in law Joe Livingston, his brother Gary (Debbie) Jamison of Indiana, his sister Janet (James) Cobb of Texas, 3 grandchildren Sydney Livingston, Breccan Donlon, McKenna Donlon as well as nieces and nephews.
The family will be present to receive friends on Saturday (September 25, 2021) from 1-3pm at the Bender-Brown & Powers Funeral Home 354 Canisteo Street in Hornell. A Graveside service will follow at the Hillside Cemetery with Fireman’s Honors at 3:30pm. (Attention there is construction on Canisteo Street but the funeral home parking lot is still accessible with plenty of parking).
