Obituary of Violet M. Sleight

Violet M. Sleight Swain Violet M. Sleight, 95, passed away Tuesday (Sept. 21, 2021) at Elderwood At Hornell. Born in Warsaw, New York,, August 14, 1926 she had resided in Swain for many years. She had been employed at Kelly Brothers Nursery and later, at the Swain Ski Center as a food service worker. Violet was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Canaseraga American Legion Post. She was predeceased by her parents; Arthur and Ruby Truax, her husband, Floyd Sleight in 1992, her daughter; Bette Glover, her son; Darwin Sleight, her grandson; Gary Glover and her sisters; Viola Blowers, Hazel Rawlings, Edith Rawleigh, Dorothy Truax, Florence Burr, Jessie Truax, Betty Howe and Evelyn Anderson, her brothers; Donald, William and Maynard Truax. She is survived by her daughter; Lisa (Doug Griffith) Scott of Dansville, her son; Steven (Michelle) Sleight of Canaseraga, her sister; Joyce Truax of Swain, and her brother; John “Jack” Truax of Dalton, 6 grandchildren; Kiana Sleight, Noah Sleight, Joseph Scott, Larry (Mara) Glover, Sherri (Joseph) Dunning, and Taryn Scott, 6 Great Grandchildren; Dallas (Nick) Johnson, Devon Harris- Glover, Alynn Dunning Anastyn Dunning, Alyssa Glover, Dahlia Glover as well as several nieces and nephews. Rev. Jesse Flint will officiate. Burial will be in Canaseraga Cemetery.
