Please share a memory of Randall to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Randall Gene Salmon Hornell Randall Gene Salmon, 42, of North Main Street passed away Monday (Oct. 18, 2021) at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. Born in Napa, California, the son of Michael and Kimberly Kitchen Salmon, he moved to Avoca in 1997 and was a graduate of Avoca Central School. He later received his Associates Degree from Corning Community College. He was employed as a Youth Care Professional at Snell Farms. Randy spent most his childhood as a true competitor playing football, baseball, and basketball. He was a child who always had his mom on the move and on her toes, angry for only a moment because she couldn’t contain the laughter from his goofy acts. He was always with his siblings playing football or wiffle ball in the street. His brothers and sisters were always tagging along because he was always the leader of the pack. He continued throughout his adult life playing in Gus Mackers, golfing, and playing softball with his family and friends. If he wasn’t playing a sport, he was certainly yelling at his favorite teams on TV. Randy was always up for anything and the adventures and memories he created are countless. Anyone who crossed his path would leave with a laugh and an unforgettable moment. He made an impact on all the children he worked with, touched the lives of all his friends, and could truly light up any room. Randy had a knack for finding, more like creating, mischief. If you were one of the lucky ones, you got that random phone call with an outlandish idea that he was determined to follow through on. You could always find him with his brother, best friend, and side kick, Bryan, and great friend, Todd Drake, playing video games and yelling for hours, on the dance floor making up his own moves, on the softball field polishing his bats and gloves, on the end of a beer pong table with his tongue out with a look of determination, in front of the TV decked out in his Duke gear, listening to some new unheard of music, that he was convinced was the greatest, or arguing that his name was Randall, not Randy. He was always in it, to win it. Randy loved and cherished his family fiercely and was always proud and protective. You could find him constantly bragging about the strength and beautiful soul of his Mom, the courage and bravery of his brother Bryan, the accomplishments of his sister Sam, the athleticism of his brother Brandon, and anything his nephews Griffyn or Jaxson would do. Randall Gene was an amazing man who was so easy to love. He will always be remembered for the exuberant, intelligent, competitive, and humorous sides of him. His contagious personality, infectious smile, desire for adventure, and love for life will forever leave a lasting impression. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and anyone who knew him. He didn’t enter a room, he made an entrance and made sure to go out the same way. To know him was to love him. Randy is survived by his mother; Kimberly Salmon of Hornell, his sister; Samantha (Jim Lamacchia) Salmon of Hornell, his brothers; Brandon Salmon of Hornell and Bryan (Sondra) Salmon of Fremont, his nieces & nephews; Griffyn Baker, Jaxson Tinker, Braylon Salmon and Evelyn Salmon his significant other; Jesica Breed of Hornell.
