Obituary of RoseAnn Ethelyn Matacale

RoseAnn E. Matacale Alfred Station RoseAnn E. Matacale, 77 of Whitford Road, passed away Saturday (Oct. 30, 2021) at the Hornell Gardens. Born in Hornell, Nov. 8, 1943 she was the daughter of Tracey and Lillie Jennings Snyder. She was a graduate of Hornell High School and was employed for several years as a custodian at Alfred State College. She lived a short time in Watkins Glen before moving to Alfred Station in 1974. RoseAnn loved line dancing, bowling, crocheting, and picking up shells at the beach. She also enjoyed traveling and had visited Disney World, Graceland, The Grand Old Opry, and Dollywood. She was predeceased by her parents, her first husband; Stanley H. Vanskiver, her second husband; Robert L. Matacale as well as her step-son; David Matacale. Surviving are her daughter; Mary (Jason) Whitesell of Rexville, her step-sons; Steven (Wendy) Matacale of Hartsville and Bryan Matacale of North Carolina, her sister; Pearl Marzec of Hamburg, NY, four grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. The family will be present to receive friends at the Bender- Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo Street in Hornell on Wednesday (Nov 3, 2021) from 11 AM until 1 PM where funeral services will follow calling hours at 1:00 PM. Pastor Lenny Fuller will officiate. Graveside services will follow in Rural Cemetery in Hornell.
