Obituary of Doris Irene McDaniels

Doris Irene McDaniels Hornell Doris McDaniels, 86, of Albion Street passed away Thursday (Jan. 20, 2022) at her home. Born in Hornell, on December 31, 1935 the daughter of Robert and Frances (Jackson) Campbell, she had resided in Tacoma, Washington before returning to Hornell over twenty years ago. Doris had worked for several years holding down many different jobs including being a Home Health Aide for the former Harris Nursing Home on Main Street in Hornell. She enjoyed reading and doing her puzzle books prior to her diminishing eyesight after developing cataracts. She will be fondly remembered for her love of all of her Grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband; Irving L. McDaniels who she married on January 16, 1956. Doris was also preceded in death by both parents as well as two sisters; Roberta Jean Kenyon & Catherine Burdick, one grandson; Kevin Patrick Travis in 1980 and one great grandson; Jamie Dean Travis in 2020. Surviving is 1 daughter; Roberta Lynn (Florentino) Gonzalez of Bath, 5 sons; Timothy Irving McDaniels of Hornell, Gary Edward McDaniels of Washington, Paul Allen McDaniels of Indiana, Lynn John (Lisa) McDaniels of Washington and Joseph Raymond McDaniels of Bath, 2 sisters; Patricia Leisenring of Hornell, Donna (Dick) Burdick of Toupsburg, 6 grandsons, 2 granddaughters as well as several greatgrandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
