Nance A. Herbert, 83 formerly of North Hornell Street, passed away Monday (Feb. 7, 2022) at Elderwood at Hornell.
Born in Adrian, June 26, 1938, she was the daughter of Mortimer and Mary Broughton Russell. She was a graduate of Canisteo Central School, class of 1957, and had resided all her life in Canisteo. She had been employed at the former Westinghouse Plant in Bath, and later Phillip’s Lighting, and retired in 2001 after 40 years of employment. She was a member of the Canisteo United Methodist Church. Nance enjoyed camping and visiting the Casino’s.
She was predeceased by her father in 1968, her mother in 1964, her husband; Leroy Herbert in 1998, her sisters; Margaret Russell in 1986, and Evelyn Meek in 2018, her brother; John Russell in 2014, her son; Michael Russell in 2018, and her special nephew; John Russell Jr. in 2020.
Surviving is her sister; Lyda (Roy) Tompkins of Knoxville , PA, nieces and nephews.

Honoring Nance’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or services. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Canisteo.
