Susan D. (Amidon) Smith, 71, of County Route 46, passed away peacefully the morning of February 8, 2022 at U of R Medicine, St. James Hospital surrounded by her family.
Born in Hornell, October 18, 1950, she was the daughter of Clifford and Helen (Morey) Amidon.
Susan is survived by her husband; Bruce V. Smith of 52 years, whom she married November 28, 1969. Her children; Debra S. (David) Nye, Bruce C. Smith (Gretchen), Shawnta D. (Jerry) Carney, her grandchildren; Nicholas, Emily, Jesse, Xavior, Stephanie, Cassidy, Jasmine and Laura, her great grandchild; Kayden. Nieces and Nephews; Richard and Michael Amidon, Nancy Lee Groenendaal, Larry Amidon, and Bella Lucas, several great nephews and niece, one brother; Ron (Mary) Amidon and her Furbaby; Sadie. She was predeceased by her parents; Clifford and Helen Amidon, brother and sister-in-law; Richard and Bella (Nancy) Amidon, brother; Clifford Amidon, father and mother-in-law, Clifford and Bertha Smith, her Furbabies; Sandy & Shelby whom she miss dearly.
Susan enjoyed many things in her life but a few were her favorites; riding the Trike with her husband, casual drives with her husband taking in the scenery, and grabbing some KFC out in their travels, camping, especially her little piece of heaven up on top of her hill where she enjoyed most of her summers, going to the Steam Pageant every year to camp, shopping on QVC, and her flowers and flower pots, flower beds and hanging baskets.
Over the years of Susan’s life up until her retirement, she was enjoyed at several businesses. She will be fondly remembered for her happy personality at Andy’s Sub Shop and her loyal customers she served.

At Susan’s request, there will be no calling hours or funeral services. The immediate family will have a private burial in the spring at the Arkport Heritage Hill Cemetery.
