Obituary of Jean Cobin

Lyla Jean Cobin Angelica Jean Cobin, 77 of Mechanic Street, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday (May 12, 2022) at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pennsylvania. She was born at home in Angelica on December 11, 1944, the daughter of Leonard Guy Greene and Doris Guy Greene. She was a lifelong area resident, graduating from Angelica Central School. In 1965 she married George F. Cobin, and spent nearly 58 years together. Jean was a member of the Angelica United Methodist Church, and had worked for many years at the Angelica Bakery. She enjoyed baking, cookouts, cards, dice, camping, and the annual “Girls Day Out Trip”. However nothing could hold a candle to the love she had for her family; her husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, siblings, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her brothers in law Joe Kenyon, Bobby Cobin, James Cobin, Dale Cobin, her sister in law Alicia Cobin, and her in laws Hugh J. and Betty Seeley Cobin. Jean is survived by her husband George, daughters Deborah (Shaun) Padden of Rochester, Sherry Cobin of Angelica, sons Ronald Cobin of Angelica, Brent Cobin of Andover, her sister Joyce Kenyon, her brother Raymond (Sylvia) Greene, her brother in law Stan Anderberg, 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, her best friends Betty “Punky” Hayes, Skip “Santa Claus” Hecker, and Jackie Robbins as well as several nieces, and nephews. The family will be present to receive friends on Monday (May 16, 2022) from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home in Angelica. A Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday (May 17, 2022) at the funeral home at 11:00am with the Rev. Stephen Crowell officiating. Burial will be at the Until the Day Dawn Cemetery in Angelica.
