Floyd Charles “Sonny” Pettibone

Floyd “Sonny” Pettibone, 87, of Davenport Lane, passed away unexpectedly at his home.
He was born in Hornell on July 14, 1934 the son of Enford L. Pettibone and Odessa O. Bailey Pettibone. He had been employed by the State of New York, where he had been a stenographer for the Department of Corrections. Sonny had worked as an Therapy Aide for numerous places including the Craig State School in Sonyea and the last being the Bath VAMC.
He was predeceased by his parents, his brothers Raymond Pettibone and Enford Pettibone, and his nephew David Pettibone.
He is survived by his niece Sharon (Mark) Levanway of Athens, New York, his nephews Dale (Diane) Pettibone of Idaho, Jeffery Pettibone of Candor, NY, and special friends and caretakers Dudley and Teresa Jenkins.
The family would also like to thank Denise Layfield and family, Bill Harwood and many church friends.
A Graveside Service will be held on July 16, 2022 at 10am at Fremont Cemetery in Stephens Mills, NY. Rev. Dudley Jenkins and Teresa will conduct services.
His niece Sharon would encourage you to find a senior citizen or someone in your area to help and assist with maybe; making a dinner or help others as he was helped by many.
