Dorothy Graham, 92, of North Hornell passed away peacefully on Wednesday (July 6, 2022) at St. James Hospital.

Born in Hornell, September 2, 1929, the daughter of Anna (Phillips) and Fred L. Morris Sr., she was a lifelong area resident. After high school, Dorothy attended flight attendant school. She married Jack D. Graham on June 9, 1951 at Park Methodist Church and they were blessed with 59 years of love and devotion. She retired from SKF Industries after 36 years of service and was then employed at Alfred University in the Office of University Relations, retiring after 26 years of service. She was very active in the Hornell High School Alumni Association with her husband Jack and was a lifelong member of the North Hornell Fire Auxiliary as well as a member of the United Methodist Church of Hornell. She will be remembered by many as a real people person.

She was predeceased by her husband; Jack, her parents and sister; Louise Jean Morris. She is survived by her brother; Fred (Beth) Morris of Adams Center, N.Y., nieces and nephews; Sarah (Joe) Shammas, Laura (Randy) Smith, Steven Graham, Jennifer Graham Bush and grand nieces; Elizabeth and Julianne Goodenbery and Courtney and Meghan Smith.

Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday (July 9) from 11-1 PM at the Bender-Brown & Powers Funeral Home of Hornell located at 354 Canisteo Street where services will be held at the conclusion of calling hours. Her brother, Fred Morris will officiate. Burial will be at Rural Cemetery in Hornell.

The family would like to thank Joy, from Home & Healthcare Services for assisting Dorothy so she could safely remain in her own home, the staff at Updyke’s Willow Ridge Assisted Living when she had to leave her home and the physicians and nursing staff at St. James Hospital. The care and compassion provided to Dorothy was above and beyond.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Dorothy may be made to the North Hornell Fire Dept. West Maplewood Ave., Hornell N.Y. 14843.
