Douglas Petric, 69 of Hopkins Street in Mt. Morris, passed away peacefully at UR Noyes Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
He was born in North Hornell on August 3, 1953 the son of Vincent Petric and Mary Baker Petric. He graduated Alfred-Almond Central School in 1973, and went on to attend Alfred State College, SUNY Geneseo, and later finished his Master’s degree in Library Science at Albany State College. He found his full time job at Groveland Correctional Facility as the head librarian until his retirement. He was very active and participated in the Mt. Morris Lions Club and the local Office of the Aging. His true passion in life was his pets, and he had many of them.
He was predeceased by his parents, his twin brother Jerry Petric, and his sister in law Cindy Petric, and brother in law Mark Cappadonia.
He is survived by his sister Donna Petric Cappadonia, his brother Dennis Petric, his niece Rebecca Cappadonia, and nephews Anthomy Cappadonia, Josh Petric and Mike Petric.

There will be no services at this time, and arrangements are being handled by the Bender-Brown & Powers Funeral Home in Hornell.
