Carol A. Meyers, 85 of Spruce Street, passed away Friday (Dec. 2, 2022) at St. James Hospital after a long battle with Alzheimers Disease.
Born in Hornell, May 23, 1937, she was the daughter of Gordon and Mildred Winne Keyes. She was a graduate of Canisteo Central School and had been employed at the former Westinghouse Plant in Bath and later as a waitress at the former Big Elms Restaurant and the Texas Café both in Hornell. Later, she was active in the Grandparents Program at the Canisteo Elementary School.
Carol was a communicant of the former St. Joachims Church in Canisteo as well as St. Anns Church in Hornell.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Robert Meyers in 2001, her brothers, Lewis and Bud Keyes, and her sisters, Delores Kelley and Margaret Pirece and step-son, Nathan Meyers.
Surviving are her daughter, Sheryll (Michael) Delia of Hornell, and her son, Christopher Kurtz of Canisteo, Step Children, Wendy (Steve) Kimball of North Carolina, Cassandra (Jeff) Cooper of Arkport, George Meyers of Arkport, Rhett Meyers of Gettysburg, PA, Douglas (Lori) Meyers of Hornell, 6 grandchildren, Aaron Hutchinson, Bradon (Sabra) Jones, Bethany (Dylan) Hurd, Cheyenne Delia, Madison Delia and Serenity Delia. Several nieces and nephews.

The family will be present to receive friends on Saturday (Dec. 10, 2022) at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home 6 Spruce Street in Canisteo from 11 AM until 2 PM where funeral services will follow at 2 PM. Deacon Robert McCormick will officiate. Burial will follow in Heritage Hill Cemetery in Arkport.
