Obituary of Nancy G. Dobson

Nancy Dobson (Dale) of Hornell, passed away peacefully in the company of her loving husband of 21 years and family. Nancy is survived by her husband Bill Dobson, her children Tim Clark of Hornell, Kelly Clark (Jason) of Rapid City, South Dakota; her step children, Jeffrey Dobson (Lisa) of Almond, Heidi Markel (Eric) of Hornell, as well as multiple Grandchildren and Great grandchildren; brothers and sisters in law and beloved nieces and nephews.

Nancy was predeceased by her father Lawrence L. Dale and mother Jacqueline J. Dale; her Brother Gordon (Gordy) Dale; Stepson BJ Dobson and sister in Law Mary Crosby (Geno).

Nancy grew up in Alfred, New York, was a graduate of Alfred-Almond Central School where she was very active in athletics and held records for track and field. She went on to study Nursing and served the Hornell community as a nurse for many years.

Nancy was an avid advocate for animals of which she rescued many over the years. Nancy invested her life in her friends and family and was often the first to get involved and offer assistance of any kind  to anyone in need. Nancy enjoyed many hobbies over the years including genealogy and ancestry. She assisted others in finding lost relatives and was an avid member of the Eastern Puma Research Network.

Services to honor and celebrate the life of Nancy will be held at the Bender-Brown and Powers Funeral Home located at 354 Canisteo Street in Hornell, New York on Friday January 6, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers please donate to a local ASPCA or church.
