Betty Spike, 84, formerly of Riverbend Apartments passed away Friday (January 6, 2023) at The Hornell Gardens. Born in Ransomville on September 21, 1938 the Daughter of Thomas and Marjorie (Moore) Quade, she had resided the majority of her life in the area. Betty will be remembered by many for her love of cross stitching and sewing. She used her skills to design and create many items including pillow cases, curtains and table cloths. She was an avid reader of both mystery and romance novels and loved to collect knick knacks and sewing thimbals.

She was predeceased by both parents as well as her Husband; William Spike Sr. and a son; Leon Henry "Skip" Spike.

Surviving are her Son; William Spike Jr. of Hornell, one Sister; Judy (Tom) McArdle of Portland Oregon, two Grandchildren; Issac (Brianna) Spike of Hornell and Natalya (Torey) Brown of Hornell, four Great Grandchildren; Liam, Aurora, Olivia and Piper Spike of Hornell.

Friends are invited to call on Saturday from 12-00-2:00pm and 5:00-7:00pm at the Bender-Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo Street, Hornell.

Burial will be at Canaseraga Cemetery.
