David C. Negron

Canisteo

David Negron, 58 of Cty Rt 29, passed away Saturday (Feb. 4, 2023) at his home.

He was born in Hornell on July 13, 1964 the son of Arlinda (Flynn) Preston and had resided the majority of his life in the Canisteo Valley.

David was a graduate of Hornell High School and worked for several years in Property Maintenance at the Wilkins Dairy Farm in Bath, NY.

In his younger days he was a respected boxer who had hands registered as lethal weapons. David will be remembered by many as a loving family man, always trying to bring his family closer together and for spending time playing basketball with his kids. He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys, enjoyed playing poker (particularly Texas Holdem) and competing in demolition derbies.

David also enjoyed bonfires, muscle cars, woodworking and going mudding with the four-wheelers and side by sides and the danger and excitement it brought. Hearing the laughter and happy screams made him light up. He taught each of us children something special. He loved doing home improvements and building experiences around the house. When playing basketball, he did it with his siblings, children, nephews and cousins. He enjoyed tackle football with his family as well. Cookouts were one of his favorite things to do. He always wanted the best for each and every one of his biological and stepchildren.

He was predeceased by his mother.

Survivors include: His Father; Leo Preston of Hornell, two Sons; David (Rhonda Dixon) Negron Jr. of Hornell and Justin Negron of Canisteo, his ex-Wife; Rosanna Preston of Hornell, three Stepsons; Shawn Clayton, Trevor Thomas and Nathaniel Thomas, two Daughters; Jazel Negron of Hornell and Nikita Negron of Arkport, one Stepdaughter; Kailyn Clayton of Canisteo, five Brothers; Robert (Melissa) Preston, Christopher (Sheryl Hall) Preston, Jody (Sharon) Preston, Opieadiea (Rosanna) Preston and Cherkee Preston, two Sisters; Kay (Merton) Sammis and Raeabella (James Franklin), several Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Grandchildren and one Great Grandchild.
