Beryl J. Johnson, 86 of State Route 21, passed away Thursday (March 30, 2023) at Elderwood at Hornell.
Born in England, June 14, 1936, she was the daughter of Edward and Thora Hill Haylett. She has made her home in this area since 1956. She had been employed for many years as a bookkeeper for Fred C. Johnson & Son Contracting in Hornell. Beryl was an avid animal lover and bird watcher. Her favorite birds were the Cardinal and English Robins. She enjoyed ceramics and was a member of the former Eagles Club in Hornell
She was predeceased by her parents, and her daughter-in-law, Debra McElhenny.
Surviving are her daughter, Cheryl Johnson (David Lantz) of Hornell, her sons, Kevin Johnson and Glenn Johnson both of Hornell, her grandchildren, Brandon Johnson-Lantz and Eric Drake.
The family will be present to receive friends on Tuesday (April 4, 2023) from 2 until 4PM at the Bender-Brown & Powers Funeral Home. 354 Canisteo Street in Hornell where funeral services will follow calling hours at 4 PM. Burial will be in Rural Cemetery, Hornell.
