Obituary of Rosemond E. Dodge

Rosemond Dodge Rosemond E. Dodge, 95, of Dineen Road, Hornell, passed away Sunday (July 9,2023) at the Maple City Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Hornell. Born in Hornell, October 29, 1927, the daughter of Randall and Esther Salisbury Dailey, she was a lifelong area resident. She was a devoted servant of Jehovah and a member of the Canisteo Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Warren Dodge and her sister, Virginia Wentworth. Rosemond is survived by her daughters, Nora (Chris) Robinson of Arkport, and Julie (Matt) Powers of Canisteo, her sons, Timothy (Cyndi) Dodge of Kane, PA and Randy Dodge of Canisteo, her sister, Freda Kelly of Canisteo. Her grandchildren - Brian(Carla Dodge), Christina (Jason) Roy, Michael Dodge, Rex(Kari) Oney, Regina Valle, Shane (Kadi Gunn) Powers, Brad Powers, Kyle Robinson and Kathleen Emery. Also 14 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild, nieces and nephews. Rosemond was born color blind with poor eyesight yet was remarkable in the ways she dealt with these handicaps. She could put together a 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle with remarkable ease for example. Her hearing was incredible and she was gifted with a beautiful singing voice. Above all her love for her family was without dispute and certainly the reason her family loved her as well and will miss her dearly. The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation for the wonderful care Rosemond (Miss Rosie as they affectionately called her), received from the staff at the Maple City Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Hornell. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at the Kingdom Hall on State Route 36 in Canisteo on August 12, 2023 at 3:00pm.
