Brandon Joseph Young

Our beloved son, brother, grandson, and nephew, Brandon Joseph Young, passed away tragically on August 3, 2023, in Brockport New York. He was 26 years old.  He is survived by his father Christopher Young (Theresa); mother, Lisa McIntire (David), Girlfriend, Cassandra Pangrazio; Sisters, Amanda Levine and Caitlin Young; Grandparents, Linda Larkins; Richard Foresta and Carolyn Mansfield; Aunts and Uncles, Stephanie Foresta, Christopher Foresta, Nicholas Foresta, Anthony Foresta, Stephanie Recchia, Rebecca Epstein, James Young, Micheal Young, and Kandy Jackson. He is predeceased by his beloved Grandmother, Inez Foresta, who loved him deeply.

Brandon was born in Las Vegas, Nevada on September 25, 1996. He was a curious and industrious child who loved fixing things and learning how “stuff” worked. It wasn’t unusual for him to take apart household items, only to marvel at putting them back together again.  He adored tow trucks and anything with wheels.Afterresiding in Las Vegas until 2007, he moved to New York with his father and lived for 8 years. As he grew, he took great joy in working with his father, whether it was mowing the lawn or helping with building projects.  He attended and graduated from Canaseraga Central School in Canaseraga, New York. During that time, he excelled in soccer, basketball, and baseball. His love of baseball, particularly, was robust, and he later coached baseball teams as well. Motivated to become his best self as well as by a love for his country, Brandon joined the Marines just three months after graduating high school. He initially went to Jacksonville, North Carolina and was later deployed and served in several parts of the world. His brothers at 1/8 meant the world to him. They endured some tough times, but also enjoyed incredible experiences while serving together. His remarkable leadership skills allowed him to advance to the rank of Lance Corporal before he was honorably discharged in 2020.

Relationships were important to Brandon, and he counted many as valued friends and colleagues. He was deeply loved by his classmates and community. Family relationships engaged him as well. He was devoted to his parents, and the love between him and his two sisters was--and is--everlasting. His girlfriend, Cassandra, with whom he resided at the time of his passing was the love of his life.

Brandon was dependable, a man we could count on through the best and worst of times. He worked hard, while possessing a kind, sweet soul. He will be remembered for his sunny disposition, kind demeanor, and bright light that will shine forever in our minds and hearts.
