Kenneth Petrie age 79, passed away peacefully on Thursday (October 26, 2023) with his family by his side at Cuba Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Niagara Falls, NY on March 1, 1944 the son of Raymond J. Petrie and Gertrude Trower Petrie. Ken was retired from the former Dresser-Rand in Wellsville as a machinist. Upon retirement he got involved with repairing mowers as a business, and was an all around handy man. Ken was musically gifted and had played the guitar for over 50 years, as well as playing the harmonica. His musical tastes included: Blue Grass, Country Western, and Folk. He also enjoyed classic cars especially El Camino’s and Camaro’s. His girls remark how he always had something funny to say and was loved by many. They also knew he put family first, and loved all his family equally.
He was predeceased by his parents and a brother Roger Petrie.
He is survived by his daughters Amanda Ely of Belmont, Bethany (Carl Long) Petrie of Belfast, his grandchildren Masyn Ely, and Delaney Ely and his niece and nephew Renee and Raymond.
A celebration of Life will be held at a later date, and burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Belfast.
