Johnathan D. Brace, 14, of Slaght Road passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday July 11, 2021.
Born in Hornell on December 6, 2006, the son of David Brace and Delilah Evener Gee, he had resided in the Town of Greenwood the past 5 years.
Johnathan, who was a computer wiz, would have been entering the 9th grade at the Canisteo-Greenwood Central School District this fall, and had one of the highest IQ scores in the School District He was currently doing 10-th and 11th grade work. He will be remembered as a smart, fun loving and energetic young man, yet argumentative and strong willed. He loved going on walks, building things, and “3D Puzzles”.
He enjoyed drawing, the outdoors, especially swimming and riding his 4 wheeler, music, (he played the violin) as well as singing, even writing some of his own songs. He played soccer for the Arkport Central School for a few years, liked to fish, was an affectionate “hugger” and always thought of other’s feelings. He was a good cook, especially liked baking cookies and cakes and enjoyed his favorite food; veggies and tossed salad. His favorite movie was “Dead Pool”, and enjoyed playing video games including “Call Of Duty”, “ GTA” and “Fortnite”.
He was predeceased by one sister; Alexis Brace, Paternal Grandmother; Joyce Brace and Paternal Grandfather; Watson Brace.
He is survived by his parents; David W. Brace, Delilah R. Gee, and Douglas Getman Sr, his siblings; William Brace, Isaac Gee, Kimberly Brace, Cheyanne Gee, Austin Evener (Lily), Cordell Walter, Kyliene Walter, Kathryn Gee, David J. The family will be present on Thursday (July 15, 2021) to receive friends at the Bender-Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo Street in Hornell, from 11 AM until 1 PM, at which time a funeral service will be held with James Walter officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Canisteo.
